Piermont Morning

I was up at the crack of dawn to catch a flight home to see the fam. Flight was out of White Plains airport so I went up to Margaret and Rod's to spend the night and scoot across the river first thing in the AM. This is their house in the pre-dawn glow.

Little White Bag

LM was looking for a little white bag. Who am I to judge?

Beautiful Day Downtown

I took half a day Friday to kick around downtown with LM. I was hanging out in the federal plaza/courthouse area waiting for her to arrive.

Ippolita Press Party

This was at the Seno/Ippolita press party. Ippolita, the owner/designer is on the left with the white jacket facing me. The big ring is... i'm not sure... just a big ring i guess. I'm told it arrived late and they didn't have time to hang it. Looks good in the crate if you ask me.

Riddick

Paul's pug, coming along for the ride to pick up some chinese takeout.

This is DC

In my mind, this is what DC is like. Inside these building there is a massive paper-pushing paper-stamping operation going on. Take the paper from your left, stamp, push the paper to your right. Take the paper from your left, stamp, push the paper to your right. Whistle blows, time to go home.

DC Chili Cookoff

So DC has this big chili cookoff. I went down for Ted's birthday (happy birthday, ted) and the three of us (me, paul, and ted) went to the chili cookoff.

It wasn't so much about the chili as it was standing in the sun, listening to some bands, and drinking beer. Good times.

Later (about 5:30pm) we were hanging down on the water when a massive storm front crept up on us.

Toys for Grownup Boys

I got these two buggers for Paul this past Christmas. It's from this store here called Kid Robot and they sell "urban vinyl toys and mini-figures." Really it's great fun stuff for guys who either still have their star wars action figure collection or never really got over selling them at the garage sale.

Heartbreak

Adnan and his broken cigarette outside the end-of-the-night karaoke bar where we somehow always end up.

Back at Iggy's

Later that night and back at Iggy's Keltic Lounge, we discovered that Sato Wada was here. And that he is apparently very good at Megamaster's Photo Hunt.

The Johnson's

I love these bathrooms with heavy graffiti. Iggy's has the same thing going on, as captured here. This was at Welcome to the Johnson's, a bar that intends and succeeds to be almost entirely your neighbor's basement. Complete with cans of PBR and classic bathroom.

Liquid Courage

At Croxley's Ale House we found ourselves prepping for a night out. Johnny Courage does the job nicely, as does the Double Chocolate Chocolate Stout (not pictured)

DUMBO

DUMBO: Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. It was first foray into this neighborhood and I was coming out to buy a lens for my Nikon. Saw a post on Craigs List and got a great lens at a very nice price. This place looked like a trip with the outdoor cafeteria seats and the duct-taped bench seat (far right).

The person I bought the lens from lived in an old factory/warehouse converted to co-op units. He had a gorgeous apartment. This was the hallway. The floor I was on had this fantastic space-geek-industrial mood going on. A fantastic random pillar in the middle of the building.

ESB

View of the Empire State Building from 8th ave and 34th St.
Later I was taking shots of it from rooftops at night for NYC2012. Night photography is tough. My shots were terrible.
