Bryant Park Gearing Up for Summer

The BP Cafe in none other than my favorite midsummer day treat: Bryant Park. The chairs were stacked up and nothing was going on as it was too early for the lunch shift.

A Night of Nacho Libre

We went to go see the great Lucha Libre, Nacho Libre, and of course celebrated with luchador masks, mexican food, and mexican drink.

David Cope (i think) in the luchador mask at Tortilla Flats, after the movie

Tortilla Flats on an atypical quiet night. The heavy downpour prevented most people from getting out that night. As such Tortilla Flats was actually maneuverable.

Candles and a scary Hattie at Turks & Frogs at the end of the night.

Happy Birthday?

At dinner that night the waiter overheard a fragment of a conversation when I joking wished LM a happy birthday. He responded by bringing out a lit candleabra and a plate of chocolate covered strawberries with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate sauce. We got a big kick out of it and thanked the waiter for the thought and for NOT singing.

Savannah Ferry

We stayed at the Westin, pictured here right across the river from the historic district of Savannah. This was Saturday night as we were heading back into town for dinner.

Taffy Maker - Savannah

Lai Ming and I went down to Savannah, GA for the weekend. It was a quick trip; down on Friday, back on Sunday. Aside from the moss-covered trees in the historic district there were plenty of candy stores making fresh saltwater taffy. One man, one roll of taffy, one machine spitting it out.

Pirate Party

My Aunt Margaret and Uncle Rod (pictured) hosted a pirate themed party. Why? No one really knows why. But it was a blast. Good times with the family and two dozen random Piermont strangers all dressed like pirates on a Saturday night.

Of course David Cope was totally decked out.

LM on the Subway

Yes, she is actually on the subway. And having fun. We had 7 people, had to get from 58th & Lex down to 16th & 8th in the pouring rain at 7pm on Friday. Need two cabs? HA! Oh, man that's a good one. It's better to take three thai natives, one Hong Kong'er, my cousin and my girlfriend on the subway and transfer from the 6 to the S to the 1 than it is to stand in the rain and have to fight for two taxis.

Rainy Day

Waiting for the subway, this worker was sweeping the water from the flooded platform onto the tracks where it would... flood the tracks? I dunno.
