Geek Heaven

HK has a these computer stall mini-malls all throughout the city. I've been in 4 or 5 different ones. One stall is just cables, the next just video cards, the next just monitors. It's tightly packed aisles of computer parts, cables, video games, hardware, software, network, everything geek under one roof, across two or three floors. It really is like geek heaven. Just poke around from stall to stall, negotiate to get the best price, get something thrown in for free, and get your geek on.

Rainy Day HK

It poured down rain our last day in HK. We started the day at the Po Lin monestary to see the big Buddha--in a torrential downpour. (Sorry no palm pics from that) Then spent the rest of the day shuttling from place to place either on foot or in taxis.

10,000 Buddhas Temple

In Hong Kong at the 10,000 Buddhas Temple, David and I had fun walking up to the temple itself. They do actually have 10,000 Buddhas, each one in a different position from the next.

David being David decided we should go into the woods and see where we can go from there. Me being me I fully encouraged him... to go first. This was the view looking down over the temple and the new territories in the background

And here's David on his way back down the mountain post-hike.

Happy Birthday Lai Ming

For Lai Ming's birthday I took her out to dinner at Spice Market. It was supposed to be one of those transcendental experiences, but really it was just loud, muggy, and crowded.

My Patio

I finally got around to setting up my patio. The place was filthy and a terrible mess. I bought everything here at Target (on sale) and set it up. I have a few more things until its complete, but I'm excited to put it to use.

World Cup Semis at Daltons

Towards the end of the Italy/Germany game at Daltons the place was packed and everyone was on edge. I've been catching most of the weekend World Cup here at Daltons. It's a great pub--bright, clean, big, with 10 huge hidef widescreen TVs. This was my local until I moved across town to the east side. But I still come back here to watch sporting events whenever I can.
