On the Tarmac at JFK

Two views through the covered walkway on the tarmac at JFK. I purchased a new ticket to take me from JFK to Boston to Columbus. My dad will pick me up in Columbus and we'll drive 3 hours back to Pittsburgh together. It was this or arrive in Pittsburgh 4pm on Christmas Eve. I'll take the day-in-the-airport and addtional cost any day over having to wait a another day to see my family.

Stuck at JFK

A fellow stranded traveller finds a comfortable spot. I was 1.5 hours early for my 8:40am flight only to be met with a 1.5 hour check in line. I set up other arrangements which means 6 hours in JFK.

Christmas Travel at JFK--Back of the Line

This was my view from the back of the line. The third line I got in, the third line that isn't moving. At this point it doesn't look like i'm going to make my flight.

Park Ave Reflection

Reflection in the marble on Park Avenue. It was yet another beautiful 60 degree and sunny day in December. Perfect for perching and watching the world go by for a mintue or two before carrying on with a hectic day inside.

Swarovski Star on the Rockefeller Christmas Tree

This is an exact replica of the star atop the Rock Center tree. It's a huge thing and absolutely beautiful down here at ground level. No lighting from within, this is all crystal and very good spotlights--oh and a good camera angle by the photographer of course.

The Tree at Rockefeller Center

Out to see the tree with Lai Ming. It's not very tall this year, it's kinda fat instead.

Locked Out

I came back today to have lunch with Lai Ming at the apartment then left with my keys still on the counter. Of course she locked up when she left and was gone to Queens long before I realized the location of my keys. There's me, waiting for the locksmith to arrive.

Here's my trusty locksmith:

When I asked him how many doors he opens a day, his response was "a lot"
